Biography
Ingeborg Skarre Stensland (b. 2000) is a soprano from Drammen, Norway. In spring 2026, she completed her Master’s degree in Classical Singing at the University of Stavanger, studying with Professor Elizabeth Norberg-Schulz. For her master’s examination, she performed the role of La Contessa in the university’s production of Le nozze di Figaro, graduating with the highest grade. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Barratt Due Institute of Music, where she also participated in the institution’s talent programme.
In spring 2026, Ingeborg was awarded the Bjønnes Scholarship at the University of Stavanger.
Ingeborg began singing in the choirs at Bragernes Church at the age of eleven, while also taking piano lessons at the local music school. She later attended the music programme at St. Hallvard High School.
Alongside her studies, Ingeborg has been a regular member of Solistkoret Ung and has worked as a substitute singer on projects with, among others, The Norwegian Soloists’ Choir and Valen Vocal ensemble. She has also participated in several opera productions, including L’elisir d’amore (2025) and La bohème (2024) with Opera Østfold, Don Giovanni (2024) and And Then There Were None (2025) with Opera Rogaland, and Ingenting at The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet (2023).
In spring 2026, she performed the role of Lucy in Gian Carlo Menotti’s The Telephone and appeared as a soloist in Mozart’s Requiem. Previous solo engagements include Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Schubert’s Mass in G major.
Ingeborg is also active as a concert organiser and producer. She has organised several successful concert projects, including Høstromanser, Toner mot jul and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. In spring 2024, she was the Festival Director of Fagerborgfestspillene, Barratt Due Institute of Music’s annual music festival.
